The conference is also intended for members of regulatory authorities.

Objective

APV and ipec Europe are delighted to invite you to our conference on “Nanoparticles in Excipients and their impact on Pharmaceuticals with a special focus on Titanium dioxide and Iron oxides”.
The conference will focus on hot topics relating to use and replacement of nanparticles in pharmaceutical excipients with a special focus on titanium dioxide and iron oxides.
Nanoparticles continue to be a hot topic among regulators around the world. The recent ban of TiO2 (E171) as a food additive in Europe has highlighted the need for a comprehensive understanding of the global regulatory environment regarding the presence of nanoparticles in food additives and excipients. The use of TiO2 in pharmaceuticals is currently under consideration in the EU. There are no specific safety concerns scientifically demonstrated for E171 and the current ban in food is based on the precautionary principle and some uncertainties related to genotoxicity.
