Objective
Dear Colleagues,
In September 2015, the European Paediatric Formulation initiative (EuPFI) will convene its 7th annual conference ‘Formulating Better medicines for Children’ in Antwerps RAMADA Plaza Hotel, September 16 to 17 2015 in partnership with APV (International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology).
This years preconference workshops focussing on ‘How to construct/evaluate PIPS’ and ‘Neonatal special needs and drug administration/devices/packaging’. These preconference workshops are designed to maximise your learning experience by a specialist in the topic area.
Moving on to the plenary sessions with the focus on Paediatric HIV formulations, Product development outside the EU/US and Influence of excipient on drug absorption in the gut. An Innovation Show Case will give an opportunity for companies to present less traditional yet relevant technologies for children medicines.
The EuPFI thematic sessions covering the five work streams of EuPFI (taste masking and testing, excipients, age appropriateness of formulations, extemporaneous formulations and administration devices) will provide an overview of the current practices and challenges in the aforementioned areas, to illustrate specific remedies utilized by paediatric drug development teams to overcome hurdles.
We continue to have a vibrant poster session with many selected by peer review for oral presentation. We encourage you to explore the EuPFI website which contains all the information you need to submit your abstracts.
The conference will enable participants to present, discuss breakthroughs and expand their knowledge on recent developments and challenges in the area of paediatric medicines and administration devices, from academia, industry, hospitals, and regulatory authorities. It will bring together international leaders in the fields of paediatric formulation development to discuss emerging topics in these areas.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity! We are looking forward to welcoming you in Antwerp with his beautiful historical city centre.
